United Fintech adds Athena to portfolio

United Fintech, an outfit dedicated to hoovering up a stable of capital markets fintechs, has bought a 25% stake in Athena Systems, a US provider of investment decision support and automation software.

The terms of the deal have not yet been released but United Fintech plans to buy another 26% in two years and the remaining 49% in three years.

Athena, with offices in the US, Spain, and Vietnam, service managers, and hedge funds around the world through its Athena Spark software, offers comprehensive lifetime software planning, promotion, implementation, and training.

Founded in 2020, United Fintech is focused on buying a record of major fintech markets and helping them sell products and services to major global financial institutions.

The company prides itself on working on “protecting Big Tech’s big banks”, giving them a one-stop-shop for technology development.

With approximately 130 employees in Europe and the US, the factory has already completed four purchases, Athena joins clothing sales analytics FairXchange, German company TTMzero, and Danish fintech NetDania.
